Saint Bruno

Saint Bruno was born in Cologne and taught theology at Reims, then went with a few companions to live in the wild country of the Chartreuse, near Grenoble, where the Carthusian order began. Pope Urban II called St. Bruno to Rome, and he died in a hermitage in Calabria in 1101 AD.
